We decided to engage FISS for a private lesson after looking through their website because it confidently boasted that they have very experienced snowboard instructors.

However, we were very disappointed that we were assigned an instructor who had only 2 months of experience teaching. Additionally, the experience is very underwhelming because the instructor is relatively young (<21) and evidently inexperienced in coaching as he is very passive. As travellers, we are more than willing to pay the prices FISS lists on their website because we want a good experience snowboarding overseas however we felt the overall session is not up to standard and it is very disappointing. We would like to give feedback to FISS to coach their instructors better in teaching rather than just selecting people who have many years of experience snowboarding. Lastly, we would like to emphasise that it is not the instructor fault, rather FISS’s responsibility to ensure they have sufficient experienced instructors on hand. We hope to see better reviews here in the future

Took 1 group & 1 private lesson for snowboarding and 1 group lesson for skiing. Both instructors Auckland and Lucas are very professional and patient. They ensure that we are able to do all the skill by ourselves and if we are ready they will guide us through the green runs. My experience with FISS is very positive. As for their customer service and reservations, it is really excellent. They are willing to go some extra mile if you face difficulties (of cos not unreasonable requests). Overall very good experience. Highly recommended.

Freedom Through Movement

My family had a great experience skiing with the FISS team in December 2023. They were experienced instructors and were able to choose the best slopes for us according to our level of ability. My kids really love to ski now cause their instructor made it so fun for them. Thank you Mio for arranging our sessions and looking after us.

Glad I booked my lessons with this school. Good communication from the start and even on the day before my first lesson. My ski instructor was incredibly friendly, patient and reassuring. Overall a fantastic experience. Thank you!

I had a private ski lesson with Osamu. I have been taking ski lessons for at least 20 years, however, only for 1-2 days every couple of years. I always forget whatever was taught to me the last ski lesson was, which was 2 years ago. I am a professional ski lesson taker. I like to ski. I never do it enough to progress. Osamu helped me feel comfortable even though I felt the ski run was a little bit over my skill level. I fell many times, but I always had Osamu to help me back on my skis. He is very patient and kind. By the way, I am 58 years old! I hope I can take private ski lessons 7-10 days in a row and progress every day, control my fear of falling, and ski like chop sticks, not pizza! I hope to come back next year and ski for 7-10 days . I learned a lot in one day of private ski instruction from Osamu. Thank you, Osamu! I hope to see you again next year. I recommend Osamu for private ski instruction.

It was a first time skiing so we decided to get a private lesson to make sure we could enjoy our time.
We only spent a few hours prior to our lesson getting a feel of going down the most gentle of slopes for around 10m.

Our instructor Ally (sorry I didn't catch the exact spelling) was a self described retired athlete from New Zealand. She took us up the beginner slopes and made sure we were able to perform the basics.

Prior to our booking, we were told we would not need a lift pass, but as we had excellent instruction and coaching we were able to quickly progress. We quickly purchased 3 lift runs which was enough for the rest of the lesson. Ally took us down the lower green routes and carefully observed us to give us only the essential coaching needed to keep us upright. We did not feel overloaded with information and honed our basics for each of the runs. The final run she took us down a steeper green to make sure we would be fine to handle any of the other green routes the field has to offer.

The next day I went up the second lift and failed to navigate my way correctly down the green route. I accidentally went down the back K4 route instead. However I fell back on our instructions given to me the previous day and made it down the route safely without a fall.

I can highly recommend Ally, and the team at FISS

The teaching staff are amazing. My daughter and wife had never seen snow before and after 1 lesson were both up and skiing on the bunny slopes. The office is on the top floor in the same place as a day care Center for younger kids and the 'asian' restaurant.
